— What's in The Lineup

Events worth your time

Sustainability Lineup is a directory of conferences where sustainability professionals gather to share, learn, connect, and move the work forward. Events range from general sustainability management to targeted topics (e.g. circularity) to industry-specific gatherings emphasizing sustainability (e.g. sustainability in healthcare).

Our inclusion criteria Every listed event must meet these:

  • Sustainability is the subject. The program is about sustainability practice — climate, ESG, circularity, carbon, resilience, and related work. Not a conference for an industry that is sustainability-adjacent, and not a sustainability track inside a general business event.
  • Built for sustainability professionals. Content aimed at people doing the work, whatever their sector or seniority.
  • Open registration. Anyone who wants to attend can register. Not invite-only or members-only.
  • A full day or more. At least one full day of programming — not a webinar or half-day workshop.
  • In the United States. For now. National, regional, and local events are all welcome.

What we don't list

  • Trade shows and expos, where the exhibit floor is the main event. (A conference with an exhibit hall is still a conference.)
  • Vendor-hosted events, sales summits, and user conferences.
  • Academic and research conferences.
  • Career and professional-development events.
  • Association business meetings, member summits, and internal convenings.
  • Events for the general public.

These criteria guide our decisions, but they don't make them for us. Curation involves judgment, and some events sit right on the line. If we've missed an event worth your time, or listed one that isn't, tell us.

— How we find events

AI-assisted discovery, human-curated for relevance

Our discovery process runs on two tracks — AI-discovered and human input and reviewed. Every candidate event goes through the same review process against our inclusion criteria before being added. The result is a directory you can trust — saving you time and helping you decide where to show up.

Track 1

AI-assisted discovery

An AI-assisted search scans the web for new and updated events, checking known organizers and surfacing new candidates from across the sustainability landscape.

Track 2

Human input and review

Events submitted directly by organizers, recommended by members of the sustainability community, or flagged by the curator — then reviewed against our inclusion criteria.

— Behind The Lineup

Who's Behind The Lineup

Why I built this
I needed a list that stayed current and was easy to use. So I built it.

I've worked in sustainability for over 15 years — in-house and as an independent consultant. Conferences are how this field stays connected, and I've spent too much time tracking dates, chasing down new events, and catching early bird deadlines. Clients ask me where they should go to learn more and meet people doing similar work, and there wasn't one resource I could provide. I decided to build what I wished was available.
